Concerning Titles

Seems like in any wrestling organization, big or small, backyard or online, there is a profound desire for titles. Belts, straps, gold, and anything showing nobility over various competitors. However I ask the question, what makes this all happen? Does the title compose the wrestler? Or does the wrestler define the title?

I believe the title and the wrestler are separate entities. Thus, both are great, separate or together. I think neither one makes the other. I think they come together for brief period of times merely to keep the entertainment of professional wrestling going.

Writing From Personal Experience

Remember the ol cliché a good idea is a good idea? Well.simply put, a good idea is a good idea. I think the best way we can enrich our characters is by taking from our own personal lives. I had an AIM conversation with Jeremy Cundiff last night. He stated he that he turned his life into a the wrestling persona Jeremy Cundiff. I think this is a great idea. I am sure some use fragments form our personal lives, but if not, remember it may be a may to generate some solid ideas.

What Attracts Us Young Guys To Older Women?

I mean seriously, I cannot be the only one in the UWA who has looked at an older woman and though..Damn. Perhaps it is this idea of experience. The dream of every man, an experienced woman. Well, Im a firm believer, with age comes beauty. Look at classic cars. Women are no different. With age comes beauty. Remember fellas, stay away from the married ones, especially the married ones who have police officers for husbands.

The United Wrestling Alliance is not an E-fed

But the web address says so

Look closely at our UWA. Does it seem like an e-fed? Or is it something more? I was in several e-feds once, back in the year 1999. In fact, I participated in four e-feds in 1999 and not one at the same time either. That is how prone e-feds are to shutting down.

I understand the UWA has run strong for over three years. Wow! Amazing!

Consider, all the talent here, all the commitment here, and all the friends we have made here. From the young like, Mills, and the slightly older than young, like Archie and Ron. We have a legacy here fellas. An e-fed is about getting on an RP board and spewing garbage about kicking some other guys ass on a Tuesday Terror! Our characters in the UWA have heart and soul, an absolute reflection of the writers who handle their careers. There are e-feds, yes, and then legacies. Which one are we in the UWA?

Keep the legacy baby! UWA!

*My name is Todd Brown and I handle Smokin Joe Seward of the United Wrestling Alliance. The following views below are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of the UWA or its roster. Any similarities in views is a total coincidence*

Christian and Travis Williams - The UWA Remembers

On Monday March 31st 2003, the bodies of United Wrestling Alliance Superstars, Christian (26) and Travis Williams (19) were found in the Ohio River. The two brothers died unexpectedly when their automobile left the road and plummeted into the water below. The UWA is saddened this week as it says goodbye to the Williams Brothers, two prominent and loved individuals. We never expected this, said UWA President and CEO, Mark Drivlane. I express my deepest sympathy to the Williams family and to the grieving fans of the UWA, said a depressed Drivlane. The Williams Brothers inspired many, creating a long trail of fans and admirers. I cant believe they are gone, said Jeremy Cundiff, a close friend of the brothers. I miss them already, said Cundiff before breaking into tears.

The UWA and the Williams family are accepting mail continuing into the weekend. Anyone wishing to express may log on to the UWA website and find further information. Funeral services for the Williams Brothers will be held on Saturday, April 5th 2003, in Parkersburg West Virginia. Next week, I will air a program dedicated to the lives of Christian and Travis Williams.

Goodbye Christian and Travis, you are loved and missed.

Saturday Night Stranglehold

Beginning this week, the United Wrestling Alliance plans to feature only one show per week. This is a good move. For two reasons. First, the current staff situation leaves only Lord Ronald Eugene Rose. One producer for both Rampage and Stranglehold is highly unpractical. Naturally, dropping one show holds the best interest of the sole producer. Granted there are writers, but writing is different than producing. So, one producer and one show, sounds good, and realistic. Secondly, Thursday Night Rampage possesses the noble title of prime UWA show. Saturday Night Stranglehold, although first-class, sometimes takes a backseat to its companion, Rampage. The absence of Rampage, gives Stranglehold the proverbial bling bling. Perhaps Saturday Night Stranglehold will overtake the ratings?

Manic Monday

What a week, I mean really, when I look back it really seemed to fly! Today is Friday, April 4th 2003, and soon, before many of us know it, Monday April, 7th 2003 will show her early morning glow. Honestly these days move so fast, morning to night, weekday to weekend, who can keep up? The more I live, I find I really do not dread Monday. There are many old jokes that suggest Monday is the slow day or the day that nothing ever goes right. Actually, in Mondays defense, I see the best day to begin! The day where a clean slate presents itself. In my eyes, Monday deems itself a perfect day to start any brand new project. For us in the UWA, Monday is a day for gathering new and fresh ideas for the shows ahead. Monday is a day for prosperity, not misery! Perhaps Ive had my share of measly Fridays or lengthy Saturdays, or maybe, just maybe, Ive lived a little more this week. Maybe Ive taken the old joke and said, Whose Laughing Now?

*My name is Todd Brown and I handle Smokin' Joe Seward of the UWA. These views below do not reflect those of the UWA or its roster. Any any similarities in thought is entirely unintentional*

I noticed the tribute at the top of Rampage this week. It read, "for Ken and Donna." How awesome is the UWA? Giving a tribute, to loved ones lost, during one of our shows, reflects the level of professionalism and compassion around this place. I feel honored to have written a match, on a show, dedicated to the memory of loved ones lost. Our work is awesome and so are the people behind it.

I heard HIW folded, and Kevin Cosmos is back on the force here in the UWA. Cool! I mean not cool that his organization went under, but cool to see him back where I think Cosmos is best. Speaking of which, the last Williams Brothers RP really caught my eye. I am wondering if this is really it for the duo. Honestly, I hope they make it out of that river, I mean I did enjoy my brief workings with Travis Williams.

I know the conflict in Iraq is a sensitive subject. However I feel the need to address the situation here in my column. Honestly, I can never make my mind up about what side I am on. Sometimes I agree and sometimes I disagree. Look closely at both sides of the argument. Then, decide what is best. I know there are constant protests of peace, but humbly, I think it is time to stop protesting and support the brave men and women who are over there serving in combat. I am reminded of a famous quote by the great Greek mind Plato - "Only the dead have seen the end of war." Funny how thoughts form before the common era, still apply to our everyday lives.

I'll end on a light note. I sat down with UWA superstar Ten Minute Major. Below is the interview.

Todd: Tell me, Major, about your first experience with wrestling

Major: I was always a fan growing up. This is back when wrestling was two companies and territories but I was still hooked. There was a local
promotion in Owen Sound, Ontario which is an hour and a half away from my hometown of Tiverton and whenever they would hold shows, once or twice
a month, me and a few friends would pile into a car and go and see them. We knew their names and moves by heart.

Todd: Any one a favorite of yours?

Major: One of the wrestlers was named Marc McCarthy and he was one of the light heavyweights. I was really into the light heavyweight wrestlers so he was one of my favorites. When I was 17 years old, the Owen Sound fed closed down and Marc opened a wrestling school in Tiverton.

Todd: I take it you joined up?

Major: I signed up right away even though I had no idea what I was doing. I was in a class of 6 or 7 people who paid $200 to become wrestlers
and only two other guys and me survived. He beat the crap out of us and I was still in high school and these two others were in there 20s and
athletes.

Todd: Not east if your a smaller competitor.

Major: I was the smallest guy at the gym but I think I was one of the better athletes. Some days Id have wrestling and hockey in the same
day and those days would kill me. Eventually after 5 months of training, Marc said I was ready and I made my debut in July 1999 for a small London promotion as James Misconduct Ramage. After wrestling under my real name for a few months, I became 10 Minute Major and havent looked back.

Todd: Speaking of hockey, how many times did you try for the NHL?

Major: Only once. I got an invite to the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp in 2000 when I was 20 years old. A bunch of the guys I tried out with
were cocky and arrogant or in my opinion, assholes. Bragging about their junior experience and their college experience. I played junior C, B and A. I didn't go to college so these guys thought they were better than me. One of these guys was named Willie Battler and he thought he was the man. The first day of training, I hit him hard and he fell into the bench, which embarrassed him. So while I was on the phone after practice, he took my equipment and threw it in the showers. I was pissed off but I didn'tt see him until the next day. I skated up to him and got into his face about it and he took offence and we both started brawling during the warm up skate. We got kicked out right away. I was pissed off then but now I think that story is hilarious.

Todd: That is funny.

Major: Yeah, I know!

Todd: Tell me more about the amateur hockey leagues?

Major: I played local league junior C, junior B and junior A which aren't really the amateurs but playing in them got me noticed. I played left
wing all my hockey career and I hold records in Tiverton and Owen Sound for hardest shot, most assists in a season and most penalty minutes in a
season.

Todd: Peanlty minutes?

Major: A story for another day.

Todd: I see, anyway, have you combined hockey and wrestling?

Major: Well I think the gimmick is a good combination * laughs *.  In a few of my first matches as 10 Minute Major, I would always do this comedy move where Id grab my opponents shirt, pull it over his head and give him like 4 or 5 uppercuts and then theyd stumble around. It was a crowd-pleaser. Id also have hockey stick on a pole matches and use the stick in hardcore matches but thats it.

Todd: So it is safe to say, playing hockey helped you with wrestling?

Major: Oh god yes. Hockey made me into the athlete I am today. It strengthened my body, mind and spirit. Playing hockey gives you the whole package: strength, speed, agility, brains, flexibility and toughness. Hockey made my legs strong so I can do the high-risk moves and all the crazy stuff I do and taught me more about being a man than anything before I
played.

Todd: Before we started, you mentiond something about teaching your future children the game of hockey.

Major: Oh yeah! If I have kids some day I want them to play hockey, it teaches so much. Hockey is also the place where I learned to fight.

Todd: *Laughs*

Major: *Laughs*

Todd: So, how did you and Alison meet?

Major: Hockey where else?

Todd: I had a feeling.

Major: I was playing to the guys midget team and
she was on the girls midget team. We went to different schools and Im not a fan of womens hockey so we had never met. One day, the midget guys and girls played an exhibition game against each other.

Todd: Girls vs. boys huh?

Major: There was no contact allowed.

Todd: Oh!

Major: The guys were up 8-2 and I got a hat trick and me being the cocky type, started rubbing it in. Had I met Alison before, I would have known she hates bragging. The next shift I played, she charged towards me and hit me in the crotch with her stick. I went down like a sack of potatoes. All the girls were cheering for her and all the guys were laughing at me. After the game, I was sitting on my car with an ice pack to my crotch and she came up and talked to me and we both apologized. We kept in close contact for a few weeks and soon we went out on our first date. We have been together for 4 years now and I see no signs of us stopping. Shes everything to me.

Todd: The ideal way to meet a woman huh?

Major: Whatever works!

Todd: What are yout future plans here in the UWA?

Major: Gold what else? I only held the hardcore for 9 days and that isn't enough. I have my sights set on the TV title right now but Ill always have my eyes on the prize that is the world title. If there is a tournament or battle royal or anything like that for the world title, I would like to be in it because I think I could hold my own with the best the UWA has to
offer.

Todd: Whom would you like to wrestle next?

Major: Alison * laughs *.

Todd: You don't need another shot to the nuts.

Major - *Laughs* I would like a piece of those boys in International Incident. I think their all talk, mainly our European champion. I also wouldn'tt mind wrestling Joe Seward again. I think wed have a great match too. My next challenge however is Freedom Morelez and Im not stopping until I get my TV title shot.

Issue #2

*My name is Todd Brown and I handle Smokin' Joe Seward of the UWA.  These following views expressed are entirely my own and do not refelct those of the UWA or its roster.  Any similiarities in views is a total coincidence.*

Has the E-Wrestling world gone mad?

With the recent departure of top stars on the UWA roster, I have to wonder where "everything" came from.  I'll admit, I don't understand the whole story, and I have friends on both sides of the argument.  Therefore, I chose not to take a side.

The absence of "top figures" in the UWA gives guys like me the opportunity of the proverbial "bling bling."  In only a short week, I have taken on more responsibility than ever.  This is a fantastic time to take on responsibility in the UWA.  I invite everyone one to do little something extra, time allowing.  I understand the actions of other superstars, wanting a change.  Heck, I believe change renders good results.  I also believe in persistance.  Sticking with one method at one place, eventually reaping the benefits of longevity.  Find what works best, then go for it!

I decided to make myself a website.  It sucked!  Then Mike Goodman stepped in and made me one.  He flat out said in an e-mail "I didn't like that site."  I laughed.  Then laughed again for I disliked it as well.  The current site of Joe Seward was the idea of Goodman.  So I am keeping my promise Mike, "thanks once again!"

I like Ten Minute Major.  I get a sense for the guy in his RP's.  In "Up a Toronto Hill," Major mentions a fight, costing him a chance at pro hockey.  (And since the UWA roster is full of people who start fights, this was the natural place for Major.)  But seriously, instead of doing the old, "I got injured in professional sports and now I am in pro wrestling," Major says, "I beat everybody up in professional sports and now I am in pro wreslting."  I guess I fail to understand the concept behind the injured football player becoming a pro wrestler.  Did somebody forget wrestling is a contact sport...er...I mean entertainment?

I see Minds Eye is back in action once again.  I was suprised to find, Gary Scarver and Minds Eye are the same.  (Minds Eye was before my time.)  From what I understand this guy is immortal and nothing can hurt him.  Well a kick to the junk will hurt anybody, so there you have it Gary, I'll kick you in the junk!  No but seriously, nice to see another veteran back on the roster.  Best of luck!

Well everybody, get out there and crank up those RP's.  Remember, this is our work.  We need to be proud and not sell oursleves short by saying "it's only an e-fed."  Yes, it's fiction, but the work is very real.  And remember, now is a great time to step up and carry some further responsibility.  Producing and entire show is not necessary, but something extra.  It can be as little as a compliment, to another on the roster, about how great their last RP was!

ISSUE #1

TODD'S Commentary - Monday - Fed 24th 2003Hello! My name is Todd Brown. Just in case you all do not know, I handle Smokin Joe Seward. I have asked his Lordship about doing a column for our great fed. He agreed and so here we are..

So Turmoil goes off the air officially. I have to admit, I had fun working with Goodman on the project. I am sad to see it go. Although I feel we learned a lot from Turmoils brief presence. I think as a fed we learned the essence of how much work we can really handle. Like I said, I am upset that Turmoil comes to a halt, but I think Rampage and Stranglehold are our real babies. And who knows, maybe Turmoil will come back in the near future.

Fallout approaches quicker than a Mustang on a quarter mile drag. We only have about four days to RP. I think this PPV will be quite interesting, especially the main event. First off, Shadow and Fly have a heck of an opportunity here. One will get the honor of wrestling twice at Fallout. The way both Fly and Shadow RP, I would hate to be the one to decide the winner. How do you pick a winner between such two distinguished superstars. Hats off to their handlers!

On the main event topic again, how about Mikey Hell? Love that trailer buddy, please hook me up with one! Along side Hell, we have Wall2K. Beazt and either Fly or Shadow. A have a massive amount of talent here, I telling ya folks, this match will blow the chips right off your hard drive. I wonder if Wall2K will have his shovel handy?

Now I think I will move away from the UWA and focus on some other thoughts that are crossing my mind.

I watched the move Black Hawk Down over the weekend. I watched it in the theatre when it first appeared. Needless to say, very few movies I watch twice let alone buy. I purchased Black Hawk Down on DVD and watched it. I found a few things I had missed when I first saw it. The bottom line.war is scary. I cannot imagine what it must be like to actually fight. To actually carry ammunition and a knife. To actually have another human, who you have no idea ever existed, trying to take you life in a political campaign called war.

I understand that Dan (Giri Futai, or the person that sticks his foot of the ass of people that get out of line) is a sailor in the US Navy. Well Dan, youre a hero! Plain and simple. God forbid another solider or sailor try to take your life, but no matter what, you have Todd Browns respect! Now Dan I dont know you as well as I do others around here. UWA aside, I know that if we ever met, we would be good buddies. When you sail, be careful.I cannot imagine a world with out the martial arts master Giri Futai. Although I know deep down, God forbid, if you die, you will have defended your country.and the people like me, who find so much admiration in the job you do!

Alright everybody.hug the special somebody in you life.you never know when they might be gone. Look for another installment of my commentary column on Saturday. Oh yeah and remember..eagles may soar.but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.

PEACE
TODD BROWN
